| I don't recall feeling quite so wiped last year... Shane reminded me that I worked pretty hard doing potions stuff too, but I still claim that Negotiator's Table this year was far more work :P I keep saying I won't do a live event next year... but then I had a new idea -_-; We'll see what the theme is and maybe work from there.
Two things that were noteworthy... - My costume this year involved having jewels glued to the side of my face. I had an intern come up as I was walking around Negotiator's Table and jab one (which was quite near my eye) O.o I was quite startled... "Excuse me, can I help you?" "No, I was just curious." @.@ - Jeff made a comparison of interns to puppies. "Interns are like puppies... they're cute, cuddly, energetic... but they aren't very smart and they don't remember things very well." This was in reference to my comment that I had told interns to submit the stamp to the website as their answer, and they still didn't get the fact that they were supposed to. Many no hire jokes were made that day :P

| This weekend was quite different from norm, mostly because I didn't end up hanging around the normal group of Canadians. Most of them went down to Portland for at least Friday and Saturday, with only some of them being back by Sunday.
So what did I do when the Canadians weren't in town?
- Friday: I got a chance to hang out with some of the MIT folk which yielded in this stop motion film. If you're a facebook stalker, then yes, this is the same link I already posted :)
- Saturday afternoon: Minjie brought over GTA IV... and it's a good thing I don't actually own that game because I think it seriously screws with my mind ^^;
- Saturday evening: We ended up going to karaoke, which I've become convinced that the scoring mechanism at the end of each song is just a random number generator :P
- Sunday afternoon: Teaching Mark the rules of ultimate frisbee and also (re)teaching him how to throw a forehand. And then it was off to play tennis with Mark and Fran. Note that given I hadn't played tennis since junior high, it was quite interesting :P At least by the end of the session, I was remembering how to serve...
And finally, MS ultimate frisbee has officially started. Today's weather was extremely windy though. As in there were tons upon tons of turnovers and almost every point was scored downwind ^^; But we still managed to win because we gained an upwind point advantage :D The only downside to today's game was that it was COLD... 50 degrees wouldn't normally be too terrible, but the wind seriously made it feel like 40 :( I think I'm still defrosting... The one other quirky thing about the game is that my captain for whatever reason decided my name was Helen O.o He continued to call me Helen and even introduced me as Helen the 2nd time around even after I had already corrected him :P Why Helen? Who knows...
| Weddings... I guess it's that season of life. I went to two just a couple weekends ago. First I went to Chicago for a weekend, when ESyu and JenL got married. I don't really know JenL all that well... but it was still a very nice wedding. The reception was huge though! 600 or so people @.@ But it was good to catch up with all the ICFers. I haven't seen most of them since graduation, and I had a great time. AWan hosted me for that trip... evidently he was also family friends with JenL so he thought it was interesting seeing two parts of his life intersect.
Funny story of the wedding: all the Wellesley girls were just lounging around near the end of the dancing period. JenL comes up to us and says, "All these single girls just sitting here... and all these single guys sitting right over there!" (on the far side). One of the Wellesley girls then quips, "Well, they should come over here." ^^;
Sunday evening, I went with JChu and AWan to Millenium Park. We got to walk around some, and even managed to take a successful jumping picture in front of the great metallic bean:

On Monday, it was off to Toronto for Angus and Steph's wedding. I stayed with my aunt for the majority of the trip... which by the way, having to return to dialup drove me a tiny bit crazy ^^; For Friday and Saturday nights, though, I stayed with Olwen 'cause my aunt went to New York for a shopping trip and well, I needed to find a way to get to the wedding and such :P
Funny story of the wedding: During dinner, I tried to ask the waitress behind me where the restroom was. "Excuse me, where's the restroom?" "The what?" "The restroom?" "The what?" "... sorry, where is the washroom?" "Oh, the washroom! Well, it's out that door and to the right and then another right." "Thank you." Jenny, fellow American who was sitting in my table is horrified by my concession to Canadian speech. "Emily, did you just say washroom?!?!" "Because she didn't understand me when I said restroom!" Everyone else laughed :P With a couple comments of, "Now you know how we feel in America!"
Outside of that, I didn't really do much in Toronto. Most people were visiting friends and family ^^; I was at least able to check out "Centre" (as they spell it) Island with Lawrence on Memorial Day, so I did manage to squeeze something semi-touristy in there :) Otherwise, I was just working remotely. Sounds silly to work remotely in a foreign city? Probably, but it let me save my vacation time :P

| Two weekends ago, Victor went up to Vancouver to run the half marathon. When he came back, he told me he had picked up a mug from Daiso and that when I saw it, I'd understand. A little baffled, I said sure... So this past Sunday I received this:

As I was staring at it, Victor could only say, "See??" When I just gave him a look, he said, "If you were a mug, this is exactly how I think you would look like." mew?
| Ever heard of it? Evidently it's this tv show that aired on Fox, got canceled, but in the meanwhile has quite the cult following. I borrowed the DVDs (along with the movie Serenity) from Brittany a while ago and never got around to starting it... but I watched the first hour or so last night before heading upstairs.
It's kinda interesting. Whatever Chinese they're speaking is admittedly so accented that I couldn't even figure out they were speaking Chinese until the moment was past :P It feels odd to see a Space Western though. I mean, who thinks about pulling out guns that looks like a 6 barrel revolver far off into the future? ^^; Maybe if I can get someone to watch it with me, I'll actually finish the series...
